In the year 4095 we finally overpopulated the earth. Resources needed to sustain life are at dangerously low levels and population and life expectancy are thrown into a downward spiral.

After multiple failed attempts to populate other planets, the global federation hires a young scientist who has invented a machine that can shrink matter in hopes that he can expand his research into shrinking humans. The idea is that if they can make humans half of their natural size, then the earth will have essentially doubled in size. The human body will also need half the nutrition. And everything else can be half sized as well.

I’ll stop there because after thinking about it I realized that it was a bit ridiculous. Then I did some research and found a few articles online where they actually discuss the benefits of doing this. I think I’d rather see us push for mandatory birth control before we start genetically modifying humans.
